Bootstrapping, marketing, pitching. These are just some of the basic skills students will learn when "speed" networking with Kent State alumni and entrepreneurs about the how-tos of start-up businesses. Alumni can also take part in this opportunity to network with other business owners and learn ways to improve their own business.
The evening will begin with something similar to “speed dating." At each table there will be 2-3 alumni, and a small group of students will rotate to different tables. Each table will have a topic, such as bootstrapping or marketing. After an allotted amount of time, the students will switch tables.
The second hour of the event will be open to more casual networking, asking questions, and meeting fellow alumni and students.
Parking will be available in the visitor lot in front of the Kent Student Center. Parking will be validated for participants. Light refreshments will be served. Dress is business casual.
