About the Alumni Association and Membership
What is the alumni association?
Established in 1911, the Kent State University Alumni Association is a non-profit organization that offers events, programs and benefits to keep Kent State graduates and friends connected to the university.
Where is the Alumni Relations office located on the Kent campus?
The office is located at the Williamson Alumni Center on 1200 East Main Street. The building was named the Williamson Alumni Center in 1990 in honor John, '45, and Helen, 45, Williamson of Toledo.
Why does the association collect membership dues?
Membership dues support the events, programs and services offered by the alumni association. To learn more about what the programs membership dues have supported, visit Year in Review, 2014.
Why do people join the alumni association?
Our members have many reasons for joining: to stay connected to the university and former classmates, to show pride for Kent State, to take advantage of the numerous discounts offered and to contribute to the university’s success. I am not a graduate of Kent State University; can I still join the association?
Yes, we proudly recognize and support any person who wishes to be a part of the Golden Flashes family, sharing our passion and pride for Kent State University!
What will I get out of membership?
Becoming a member gives you access to the alumni association’s social and networking events, exclusive university news, an online alumni directory, recognition and award programs, discounts for hotels, theme parks, car rentals, insurance, education and more. What types of membership are available?
Annual, Three-Year, Life and Senior Life.
How can I become a member of the alumni association?
Join today online or call 888-320-KENT (5368).
I’m a member, but I lost my membership card. Can I get a new card?
If you need a replacement card, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 888-320-5368.
Personal Information and Records
How do I obtain a copy of my Kent State transcript?
Copies of your Kent State academic transcripts are available at no charge through the Office of the University Registrar.
There are three ways to complete your request:
• You can stop by the Office of the Registrar in the Michael Schwartz Center with a photo ID.
• You can submit your request via fax or send it via mail.
• Mail requests to: Kent State University, Office of the University Registrar, P.O. Box 5190, Kent, OH 44242-0001. Fax requests to 330-672-3867. More information can be found at the Office of the University Registrar's website.
The information required for your request is: your current name and address, any former name(s), your social security number, dates of attendance and campus(es) attended, the address(es) where the transcripts are to be mailed and your handwritten signature.
How do I update my address?
To update your information, please complete this form or contact the alumni association at (888)320-5368 or email@example.com.
What is my Kent State ID number and where can I find it?
The Kent State ID (banner ID) serves as your identification for all university dealings. You can find your banner ID in Flashline, under the “my account” tab, in the “my identity” box. You can also find your Kent State ID number on the back of the Kent State Magazine. If you are an alumni association member, you can find the number on your member card or the bottom right hand corner of eFlash, the electronic member newsletter. Online Services – KSU Connect, Email and Social Media
What is KSU Connect? How do I log in to KSU Connect?
KSU Connect is an online community where alumni can share memories and contact other former Golden Flashes through discussion boards, an online directory, class notes, plus much more. By becoming part of the alumni association, you gain access to this great way of staying in touch.
If this is your first time registering for the online community, please click on “First Time Login” and follow the instructions. You will need your Kent State ID number to register. See the question above on finding your Kent State ID.
Does the alumni association have an online alumni directory? I want to connect and network with alumni/find my old friends, where do I start?
If you are an alumni association member you may find a former classmate through the Find a Flash program, which allows alumni to locate fellow classmates. Call the alumni association with the graduate's name at 1-888-320-KENT (5368). If contact information is available the alumni association will connect with the graduate on your behalf.
If you are not a member, you may still access our online directory by logging in to the online community (please see the question above for how to log in).
Other possible networking tools include our social media websites: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Flickr. Also, connections can be made through the alumni chapters and area representatives

Do I lose my kent.edu email or Flashline account when I graduate?
You will keep your kent.edu email address or Flashline account as long as you log in to your account periodically. If you lose access to your account, please contact the alumni association at 888-320-5368 or email@example.com.
Kent State Magazine/Class Notes
Who receives the Kent State Magazine?
Any graduate with a degree from Kent State University will receive the magazine. The magazine is also sent to friends of the university, Kent State employees and members of the Board of Trustees.
How can I get extra copies of the Kent State Magazine?
The KSUAA is happy to provide a complimentary copy of the current issue of the magazine. Send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I view current and past issues of the magazine online?
Please visit the online magazine archive here.
How do I submit a class note for printing in the magazine?
Please visit www.ksualumni.org/classnotes. Class notes will be printed as space allows. All class notes will be published on this website quarterly. You may search these class notes here.
How do I purchase tickets to athletic events?
For general ticket information or to purchase tickets, please contact the Kent State University Athletic Department at 330-672-2244.
Where can I obtain information about job assistance and career mentoring?
You can search for career mentors through our online community. Also, if you are relocating to a new city, many alumni are willing to help you search for a new job and make your move smoother. Please log in to the online community to see the alumni in your area who are willing to provide relocation assistance.
